The Internet Marketing Minute

The Internet Marketing Minute

In today’s marketing minute I’m going to talk about Twitter. Here are a few highlights:

  1. Download my Twitter Strategies for Converting Customers Whitepaper from Honeypot Marketing. Tons of great tips in there (and I wrote that myself, no copy paste).
  2. Go to Sponsored Tweets and Sign Up — monetizing your Twitter is s-m-a-r-t.
  3. Go to http://ad.ly and sign up — same concept but slightly different. You get sponsored by the week, not the tweet.
  4. Check out these videos by Scott Monty in charge of Social Media for Ford (interview in 3 parts: http://bit.ly/3v0NrRhttp://bit.ly/3Wumqf and http://bit.ly/2VXCUo
  5. Listen to the podcast. I talk about Twitter and how not become a spammer (or have other people on Twitter hating everything about you).

*Whew* Busy Tuesday. Is it Friday yet?

    Hi Dan,

Great information about using twitter to make money. Here is a website that I found that shows how to make money online using advertisements. check it out. http://www.FreeOnlineCashNow.com

A simple method is to tweet frequently, and on topic pertaining to your niche. The real meat here is to make helpful, informative tweets. Do not be a blabbering salesman, be an expert on your subject.

After you gain there trust, you can slowly introduce soft-sells, these work the best with the twitter crowd.

Thanks for the good post. Twitter is a gold mine if you know how to use it.

I do not understand the big hype over twitter. maybe im slow. it seems to me that twitter is just a glorified away message that has been a part of IM for a while. Couldn’t you do the exact same thing with your IM away message as you do with twitter? Couldn’t yahoo, msoft, aol, gtalk add this functionality pretty easy to their existing clients? educate me on what im missing..

Couldn’t agree more that Twitter is gold — but it takes alot of planning getting the most out of it. Always seek niche people interesting in the same subject as yourself, and gain their trust by through your tweets show meaningfull and quality posts — then they will eventually pay more attention to you, and the “snowball” is rolling.. it’s not easy, but you need a long term plan to make it work.

Always write about stuff your followers are interested in, else they will stop paying you attention!

Why so much noise about twitter???I think that it is spammers paradise.

  7. Dan Nedelko on August 26th, 2010 12:55 pm

@BTscene the same can be said of email or nearly any other online channel. The reality is that there are alot of users engaging on Twitter. The question is how to get the contact with them and the strategy behind leveraging the channel.
