Decem­ber 14, 2009 — TORONTO, CANADA – Decem­ber 9th, 2009 – Coco Model Man­age­ment, a Toronto-based pro­fes­sional mod­el­ing agency, has offi­cially announced they will be sup­ply­ing 10 run­way mod­els for the upcom­ing Anokhi celebrity fash­ion designer showcase.

The 4th annual Anokhi Awards Gala and Enter­tain­ment Show cel­e­brates and fea­tures the tal­ent of the global South Asian com­mu­nity by award­ing hon­ors to pre­em­i­nent con­trib­u­tors to the South Asian cul­tural and enter­tain­ment move­ments. One of the head­lin­ing events will be the Celebrity Fash­ion Designer Show­case, which will fea­ture run­way mod­els from the cutting-edge Coco Mod­el­ing Agency.

Coco Model Man­age­ment proudly focuses on the rep­re­sen­ta­tion of mod­els with a fresh look, depart­ing from the main­stream image of the mod­els of the past. This mod­ern move­ment in mod­el­ing chal­lenges the idea that fash­ion mod­els must be extremely skinny, tall, and fit a cer­tain eth­nic profile.

The Coco Mod­el­ing Agency rep­re­sents mod­els of a vary­ing eth­nic back­ground, body type, and look. This new mod­el­ing par­a­digm embraced by Coco Mod­els fits per­fectly with the theme of the Anohki Fash­ion Show, which will show­case tal­ent of var­i­ous eth­nic back­grounds and cutting-edge style.

The Anokhi Gala, to be held Feb­ru­ary 5th, 2010, will fea­ture an award cer­e­mony cel­e­brat­ing achieve­ments in the progress of South Asian cul­ture and style, mul­ti­ple musi­cal per­for­mances, and the run­way fash­ion show, which will be head­lined by Coco Mod­els.

Pre­vi­ous Anokhi events have fea­tured inter­na­tional celebri­ties of South Asian ori­gin such as actors Freida Pinto, Lisa Ray, John Abra­ham, and Saira Mohan, fash­ion design­ers Alia Khan, Payal Sing­hal, Prriya & Chin­tan, and musi­cal artists Swami, JoSH, Raghav, Karen David.
